Biochar is the practice of charcoal burial. Originally called “Terra Preta” by ancient amazon basin peoples, biochar makes soil richer and the process of making it stores carbon in the soil forever (it’s actually one of the only processes that is carbon-negative, reducing greenhouse gas emissions for all of us).
